Hello Xcos user, I installed Scilab 2025.0.0 on Windows 11 Pro.
I created some schema in Xcos, but I am not able to save it to the local disk by menu File → Save. It looks like saving the file was done, but after saving the folder is empty.
Can anybody help me what I do wrong?
Hello,
I was running into the same issue on a Windows 11 machine with Scilab 2025.0.0. My first thought was that the missing Xcos files (zcos) after saving were related to the Windows/Microsoft cloud folders.
But I could reproduce the issue as well on a Ubuntu 24.04 with Scilab 2025.0.0.
Not sure if this is related, but when clicking on “Save” (floppy disk symbol) in the Xcos schematic view, a “.ssp” is being added to the displayed file name for every click, but the file is not saved though.
Thank you for any help/hint to resolve this issue.
Hello,
There is a known issue on Scilab/Xcos 2025.0.0 with using the Xcos “Save as” and “Open” popup GUI. The “.ssp” file format is default whereas the “.zcos” file format should still be used. The “all supported format” does not list “.zcos” files either.
To work around this, manually select the “.zcos” file format in the list of supported file formats. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
For reference, the issue has been reported as #17332. A fix is in review as !1180 and will be merged for 2025.1.0.
Hello,
thank you for your reply and the background information. I could actually work around the issue by selecting the “.zcos” file format from the list and typing the ending of the file name manually in the text field.
Thanks and looking forward to the proper fix in the upcoming release
