Issues Accessing Nested Superblocks in Xcos Models on Ubuntu

Hello Xcos Community,

I’ve been utilizing Xcos for my modeling needs, specifically leveraging Superblocks to enhance my projects. Despite the advantages, I’ve encountered a couple of issues that I hope to get insights on:

  1. Opening Superblocks: Often, when trying to access nested superblocks by clicking on them, I’m redirected to the original model instead of the intended nested one. This behavior deviates from my expectations, where I anticipated the nested superblock to open for editing or review.

  2. Accessing Models from “Recently Opened”: An interesting observation is that when I initially launch Xcos and navigate to my project through the “Recently Opened” section, the nested Superblock is displayed correctly. However, the overarching model does not appear as expected. This particular method of access yields a different outcome compared to direct navigation within the Xcos environment.

I’m curious if there are specific protocols or guidelines within Xcos that I might be missing, especially regarding the use and nesting of Superblocks. Additionally, is the embedding of a Superblock within another Superblock not recommended or potentially problematic?

For context, I’m operating on a system running Ubuntu with Scilab 2024 installed.

Any guidance, solutions, or workarounds from the community would be greatly appreciated. Your expertise could help not only in resolving these issues but also in enhancing the overall efficiency of using Superblocks within Xcos.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and insights.
