XCos blocks (electric library)

Hi,

I am still a SciLab/XCos beginner (who startet with 5.5.1). I installed SciLab 2023 recently (and SciLab 2024).

For me it looks, as if the XCos “electric library” does not work without Coselica already installed. That was different with SciLab 6.1, if I remember it correctly.
(Maybe, only the Link to a C- compiler is necessary, as it is needed to install Coselica)

If you are going to install Coselica anyway, it is certainly no problem.

But at first, I preferred to work with SciLab & XCos only.

Can you confirm my experience?

You are right. The Electrical blocks are Modelica blocks, and a C compiler is necessary for the last pass after the C code generation (which is done by the Modelica compiler). So, running these blocks does not need Coselica, which rather provides complimentary blocks.
