I have tried putting mode(0) in scilab.ini, along with some constant declarations.
The constants work, and show up in the variable browser, but the mode(0) setting doesn’t work.
Anyone have a solution to this?
I’m also interested in this topic, but on Windows. I think mode(0) should be the default, particularly considering that many users work on a laptop nowadays, so screen area is at a premium (laptop market has been consistently outnumbering desktop market over the last decade). At least it should be possible to set it permanently in the Preferences window. I find myself typing mode(0) each single time I open Scilab.
