Default Working Directory

Hello,

I’ve been attempting to set my default working directory in Scilab 2024. To do this, I placed a ‘scilab.ini’ file in the directory indicated by SCIHOME. However, I’m encountering a few issues:

  1. I’m unable to locate this setting within the Scilab IDE preferences.
  2. I’m uncertain about the specific content that needs to be added to the ‘scilab.ini’ file.

Additionally, I’m facing a significant problem: whenever I try to change the working directory through the Console Window (by navigating to File > Browse for Working Directory), Scilab crashes.

On a different note, could you guide me on how to change the language settings of the entire Scilab IDE to English?

Hi,

about the language, go to the preferences

and select the default language in the middle of the screen (even if already set in English, select it again) then “Apply” and restart Scilab.

There is multiple way to do it:

  1. change the default “Start in” on the Windows Scilab shortcut
