I installed scilab-2025.0.0-arm64-repack1.dmg file succesfully and it worked on Monday. However, some problem is caused since Wednesday. I cannot make a new file in Scilab. Therefore, I have to make an empty file by other way, and just run it in Scilab. Could you fix it?
No, unless you give more information and context. Is this the first time you installed Scilab ? Did you grant Scilab all the authorizations when you were prompted to do so at first run ? What does mean “make a new file” ? Please be more precise, and BTW just say at least “Hello” when you post in such a place for the first time.
I apologize. I didn’t know how to begin to post because I’m not good at English and English etiquette.
The installation was the first time on Monday. Suddenly, it has not been able to create a new file since Wednesday. Therefore, I repeated the installation and uninstallation of various versions and also allow all disk access for Scilab, but I could still not create a new file in all cases. If I already have a file, it can be opened. When I create a new file and try to save it, the program loads forever.
I’m new to the forum and would like to send my greetings to all of you.
I’ve recently installed the new Scilab version 2025.0.0 and I’m using an Apple M1 Max running macOS Sequoia 15.4.1. Unfortunately, I’m experiencing an issue with saving files: as soon as I click “Save As” and interact with the dialog window, Scilab becomes unresponsive.
There also seems to be a problem with the integrated file browser. Although the file path is displayed correctly, the folder structure doesn’t update accordingly.
I’d really appreciate it if anyone has a solution or could share similar experiences.
You are reporting two different problems, the first being a recurrent one but difficult to investigate, as users having already reported it did no clearly describe their particular setup (although being asked to do so). Network drives such as Microsoft One drive or else seem to be the source of the problem but this is not a definitive answer. Nevertheless, in a clean test environment the problem cannot be reproduced.
The second problem is due to a lack of permissions given to Scilab to access the filesystem. The first time you launched Scilab you were prompted to give Scilab access to several resources, and if you cannot see files in the integrated file browser it is a sign that you didn’t granted everything that was needed.
Thank you very much for the quick response. I reinstalled Scilab, but there was no prompt asking for access to any resources. I tried to upload a short video to show the issues I’m experiencing, but unfortunately, that wasn’t possible. For example, the file browser only updates when I click inside the console window. Also, when I try to save something, the application crashes.
