Annoying Theme Point or Comma

Hi Scilab Team, maybe this topic is not yours exactly, but still always annoying.

Loding datas from CSV is always annoying, because of the system. Sometimes “,” or “.” is the decimal and depending on that sometimes it interprets as double or string and therefore stackeplot plots it correctly or not.

So its really time to standardize somehow this. We spend to much time on such a waste.

We should go to some ISO standard and thats it.

Hello,

csvread allows to precise the decimal character (see csvRead - Read comma-separated value file). So don’t blame CSV format, as it does not include any declarative header precising the column separator and the decimal character. Just do not use CSV, or do not work with people giving you data using this format !
