I discovered this page last August and I think it can be good to have a copy on the Gitlab wiki as a fun historical reference.

In fact the page is part of an archive of Scilab www site (http://ftp.sun.ac.za/ftp/pub/mirrors/scilab/www.scilab.org/), maybe the team already has it somewhere !

Dave, in fact there is no plan to change Scilab’s official Desktop icon. Some time ago macOS icon was chosen as the Puffin but since 6.1 version the icon is the same for all platform.
