Scilab and macOS Sonoma, please don't upgrade OS to 14.4!

Hello,

I strongly recommend to Scilab users using macOS Sonoma to stay on this version and to refrain from any update to 14.4 (still beta) as this version provides major incompatibilities with Scilab (and many other applications).

The bug affecting the Metal/OpenGL bridge has been fixed in the latest Sonoma 14.4 beta (issued on 7th february), but I still recommend to wait until the final release.

Sonoma 14.4 full version now, but SciLab still fails to start. What can we do?

On your machine, did Scilab start on the 7th february beta (Version 14.4 Beta (23E5191e) ?

No, Sonoma 14.4 Final version from today

We both know that Scilab was not working before 7th february update. But, do you mean that Scilab was working with 7th february update but not with 14.4 final version ?

I just tested on a brand new Sonoma 14.4 virtual machine, and Scilab starts fine:

First opening triggers Rosetta installation (needed for lauching the scilab script), then second opening checks Apple Notarization and developper status (as usual) before opening Scilab main window.

My last successful Scilab run was // – 19/01/2024 00:21:02 – // and I guess that was under some 14.4 Beta. After upgrade to next beta, Scilab kept failing.

Now I have
