Stand Alone Application

Hi Community,

I am interested in making a stand-alone executable application from SCILAB that I can share with people who do not have a copy of SCILAB on their computer. Is this possible? Is it on a future capability list? Some of the engineering tools we make would potentially be more used in our company if we could share them as an application without SCILAB installation being required.

Thanks for your reply,
Michael

Dear user,

Scilab does not provide such a tool. But, as Scilab is free, you can install as many copies as needed.

So you could create a setup of your tools which would also embed and install Scilab on computers (which do not already have it). Did I miss a constraint in your deployment process?

Best regards.

Hi

To help OP, could we link to info how to do that? Or write something about it here?

I see that Scilab is installed in my Windows PC in \AppData\Local
in the bin directory I find both WScilex as well as Scilex and WScilex-cli. It seems to me the last two will work from a command line in MS-Windows.

How would one go about and have Scilab execute an .sce file that is specified on the command line? (…and show displayed info in the console)

With kind regards,
Claus
