Dear all,

Maybe I am missing something, but on resizing a bode plot then between 10^0 and 10^1 for example
a 5.0 \* 10^0 is shown. Moreover a subscale between 10^0, the 5 and 5 and the 10^1.
I am acustomed to a linear scale on the exponent so the devision lines represent 2,3,…,8,9.
But this subscale around 5.0 makes no sense to me. Is it correct and how is it usefull ?

Thanks for explaining

Hello,

Do you mean something like this ?

Yes, sort of. Except in your plot the division ticks are logic;
“10^0”, 2, 3, 4, "5.0\*10^0 ", 6, 7, 8, 9, “10^1”
In an expanded bodeplot you get this:

 ![bodeplot](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/utc/original/2X/2/2721ebba5d14c5f28c9fa48078958f9dcee449a6.png)

8 divisions between 1 and 5. and 8 division between 5 and 10
The tick at position 5 is correctly placed for the standard placement as in your plot.

Thanks for answering.

BTW, the plot in
“How to improve the basic bodeplot provided in SCILAB” from
Pascal77 is clearer then mine.
